WHAT IS ECG TEST ?

An electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG) is a medical test that measures the electrical activity of the heart. It's a non-invasive, painless procedure that records the heart's electrical signals, showing:

1. Heart rate and rhythm
2. Electrical conduction through the heart
3. Heart chamber contractions

  ECG tests are used to:

- Diagnose heart conditions (e.g., arrhythmias, coronary artery disease)
- Monitor heart health (e.g., after heart attack, surgery)
- Check for cardiac side effects of medications

During an ECG test, electrodes are placed on the skin, and the heart's electrical signals are recorded on a graph or displayed on a monitor.
